How do I know when a tutor is needed?Honestly, if you are searching for a tutor, that is generally the first sign some additional support may be needed.
Other signs include:
Consistent frustration on the part of a parent (and a student) when it comes to homework.
Arguments about homework every week may be a sign that your child needs tutoring.
Does your child have continual bad grades that do not seem to improve, even when your child is studying?
Does your child have behavior problems at school? Sometimes a frustrated student does not know how to say… “this is really hard” and will instead find other ways to get out of doing their school work.
Does it seem like homework TAKES FOREVER to complete? Or, the homework never makes it from the backpack to the classroom?
Does your child appear to have “given up” at school? When a student does not have clear direction or has not developed a particular skill; they are lost on how to fix it. Rarely can they fix it on their own. Quality, individualized tutoring is one way to address the unique needs of a particular student. Additionally tutoring will increase the academic skills of your child in the most efficient and effective way possible.
All students want to be successful in school, but many are not sure how to do it. Compound that with many parents are at a loss as to how to help; particularly when the subject matter is complex.
Telling a student to “go do your homework” without showing them how (step by step by step) is a recipe for frustration. ClubZ! Tutoring can help teach a student how to study more efficiently with our proven program study and organizational skills program, Learning Built to Last TM
How can ClubZ! Tutoring help my child? That is an easy question to answer! With nearly nine years of providing tutoring in the Omaha Metro area—the most effective way to increase the skills of a student is individualized tutoring with a subject matter expert. ClubZ! Tutoring focuses on the way your student learns. Every student learns differently, and ClubZ! Tutors are trained to accommodate the differences in learning. Here are some ways ClubZ! Tutoring makes a difference.
ClubZ! Tutors work within the curriculum of the schools. Want to frustrate an already overwhelmed student? Easy. Work on skills that are not relevant to what your child is working on in the classroom. We help with what matters most today and your child will start seeing results right away.
Professional tutors, professionally screened. Background checks, reference checks, and subject tests are all part of our hiring process. You can hire the person down the street (neighbor, friend, aunt or cousin)—but how do you evaluate their skills? “Being good in Algebra” is a completely different skill than being good at teaching Algebra. We know the difference. Put our experience to work for you.
With parent permission ClubZ! conferences with the classroom teacher. It is critical to be on the same page with the classroom teacher. Part of the battle parents face is understanding the school “lingo” and the ever changing curriculum. We understand that at times educational systems can be difficult to navigate. We have worked with more than 2500 students so put our experience to work for you.
How is ClubZ! Tutoring different from traditional learning centers?ClubZ! tutors come to you – either at home or, in some cases, a public location. We also tailor the teaching to your child’s individual personality and specific needs with a focus on your child’s school curriculum. A learning center has a set curriculum that may or may not match up to what your child has to learn in school. Work with us. The result? Your child will receive great tutoring without you having to drive and wait anywhere.
Do I have to commit to a minimum number of tutoring sessions?Yes. Ask yourself; do you want “just tutoring” or tutoring that is effective? There is a difference and that difference starts with hiring a subject matter expert at ClubZ! Tutoring.
Building academic skill takes work and consistency. If you want to get into “academic shape,” you have to be consistent. Without consistent practice, tutoring is just a temporary fix. The minimum service agreement with ClubZ! Tutoring is 8 hours per month/per subject. You are not required to sign a long term contract and our service agreements are on a month-to-month basis.
Our ultimate goal is to build the academic skills of students, so they won’t need us forever. Even though we love our families, keeping them forever is not beneficial. Creating and developing independent learners is the ultimate goal we have for every one of our students.
How do you decide which tutor is right for my child?ClubZ! Tutoring has an in-depth matching process. A strong match is vitally important and ClubZ! goes to great lengths to have the right tutor in place. When we match our students and tutors, we consider the following: grade level, curriculum, student learning style, personality and interests of a student. In addition to the curriculum expertise and teaching style of the tutor the final piece is the scheduling of when and where tutoring will take place.
What happens in the initial (complimentary) consultation? The initial consultation includes a review of academic records and course requirements. We also discussed the academic strengths as well as any general academic concerns. If parents agree to services, a monthly terms of service agreement is signed (no long term contracts required!) Our services are provided on a month to month basis. You can use us for as little or as long as you need.
Do ClubZ! tutors work with learning disabled or Special Needs children?Yes. Many ClubZ! tutors are certified to teach Special Needs children. These tutors will be able to work in conjunction with your child’s I.E.P. or 504 Plan. Additionally, when needed a member of our staff (upon request of the parent) can attend IEP/MDT or 504 meetings with school personnel.
